What I’m getting so far is this is just an ordinary guy that can’t even sense the power of his customers. To him all his books are just ordinary books, but to the people of this world they are powerful grimoires. His misunderstandings are close enough to the emotional context of the customers worry that he ends up recommending the correct book.
Not gonna lie, if this entire story is people talking past one another into convenient resolutions every time, it’s gonna get old, fast.
