I can understand the experiment as just a way to increase her intelligence, obviously a horrible idea and fucked up, but I get the premise.
But if this was to make her mentally strong enough to cope with the pain of childbirth, would it not have been SIGNIFICANTLY easier to find a way to use magic anesthesia, or find some way to dull the pain????
Damn think about it from her perspective she truly believed their was something wrong with herself and her husband’s outburst only solidified that notion, that her lack of intelligence was a flaw. In my eyes it was her lack of intelligence that allowed her to see the essence of things, she might not know equations but she knows a good person when she sees one
