The one thing anime can do is show me emotional context that the manga and light novel do not convey. Light novels especially seem to assume an emotional context is a given without disclosing it. Manga can as well but still can be too subtle or non-existant.

The problem with this kind of isekai is balancing two worlds. I imagine having girls from two worlds and two distinctly different cultures vying for you would be hard to manage.
atleast when they get stranded they have to commit (unless they’re determined to go home).
