Isekai Walking - Chapter 140

This “Church” is obviously referring to the Roman Catholic Church.

Growing up my father had a business partner/friend who was/is probably someone working for the “Church.” My father told me and my sister to call him the “Good Uncle” because his influence helped my family many times. And he was really powerful. So powerful, even the both the Japanese and American Embassy located in our little island off the South of Japan and East of China has to listen to him and yield to him at times.

But he said something to my father, and this is why my father believes he can be trusted, in response to my father’s question, “Have you ever met God?” His response was, ‘I have never but I believe He exists.” You see, my father is not a religious person. For him, religion is merely a tool wielded by the charlatans. But, if that charlatan is on your side and is willing to tell you the honest truth about God, then maybe this charlatan is okay? Who knows. Maybe he was hiding something else and he wasn’t helping my father because of my father but someone else next to him?

However, I did eventually met my “first preacher man,” one of my aunt’s husband, when I moved to the US. While looking up for some words inside an English -> Chinese dictionary, I discover the word “hypocrite” and its Chinese equivalent … which I forgot. I didn’t even know that word existed in Chinese much less in English. But, I immediate knew what it means because I have met such a person, my preacher uncle. He was a hypocrite. One of the biggest I have met in my life. Thanks to him, I grew up suspicious of ALL organized religions, including the ones my grandmother believed, the traditional Chinese Gods. I am truly grateful to have A BIG HYPOCRITE in my life to set an example for me to recognize them in the future and to stay away from them.

My uncle was exactly like the “pope” in this chapter, someone who secretly lusted after power and wealth but had to put on a facade of holiness because being holy is his trade and his mean to power and wealth. Truly a disgusting man. He even practiced “faith healing” on his own dying son just to prove to the congregation that he has “power.” No, he was just making his son suffer for his sick. He was eventually diagnosed with an organ failure and had to be sent to the hospital.

But, the grift continues and its a family business now, except for one, the one that got sick and found God, the real God. Yes, kids,don’t trust these holy bastards. Trust your guts, if you think they are EVIL, then they are. Mia should have never gone back, but its part of the plot so she has to because she is the *sacrificial lamb* in this story. I am serious, I don’t want to give away the spoiler but lets just say Japanese are like my father, we are all suspicious of God. I guess I still am too, to be honest.
