Isekai Walking - Chapter 141

It seems like the manga has decided to take a different route from that of the light novel in order to blow up MC’s harem I think. In the original light novel, the MC is actually kinda an ass and he doesn’t have a fairy with him that kind ID’s him as a good person because he is not. In fact, his interaction with most female characters other than his slaves, Hikari, Sera, and Mia are all very transactional because they are all just NPCs. The only exception in the light novel is the elf at the beginning who in this version taught him how to form a pact with the fairy companion. She turned out to be “special” case though as the antagonist of the story, sorry for the spoiler. I don’t think it matters though since it is clear that the Roses will be joining the harem which they weren’t originally.

I guess this was why the trip to the holy city took so long when it was pretty quick in the light novel. It is to get the few mains added to the list.

The original waited for the day of the execution for the Sora and friends to act out the rescue with the help of the good cardinal who made the request to Sora who originally has zero motivation to help at all. This is what I mean he is an ass in the light novel.

The light novel gets really boring after this arc because MC is only interested in collecting materials and not really even care about his slaves but the situation did improve much later when his personality changed after learning the Roses are trapped in a dungeon. The story stopped making sense after that in my opinion because it started to drag because of mixed multiple story lines and priorities.

I think adding too many girls into the story is bad. The main story line involving why people like Sora exists is the most relevant line of the story and it is pretty interesting. Remember that he was “summoned” from another world to help the kingdom to fend off the monsters but the black hair is not from this world, thus it suggests that Hikari is also from another world like ours, but the reality is she is not, she really is an orphan in the isekai, an orphan from birth, she was created to kill. That story line is probably the more interesting line because it also hinted that the Goddess of this world gave the kings of different kingdoms the spell to summon these people for them to engage in war, not just fending off monsters. In short, the Goddess of the Walking Isekai world is a DEMON GOD.

Another thing that is interesting about the original is that Sora is the only person who can “acquire new skills” No one else can because no one else can even see a menu. Thiis brings up another question of who Sora really is and maybe his real skill is not “walking” but “calling the skill menu.” Or looking at it another way, his skill is “Class change.” which he calls “Job Change.” He started off as a “Walker, aka a Wonderer” then he got new jobs like an “Alchemist,,” etc.

This really makes me wonder if the manga creator read the story far enough to realize the gems at the end. The biggest question is how to kill a DEMON GOD and that the story has a partial answer/suggestion but I stopped reading. Too long.

What if our Mia has been killed ages ago because our True God was killed by the Demon God that was “pulled in” from another world. Just some thoughts. Remember the goal of nonsense-scholarships is to make you think, ponder, wonder, and yonder so that you start “walking” toward the path of enlightenment.
