Maseki Gurume: Mamono No Chikara O Tabeta Ore Wa Saikyou!

This is a complicated one. Solid 3.5-4/5.
However this story has a lot that’s either poorly explained, underutilized, or just goes plain nowhere. Minor spoilers ahead.

• Pointless isekai that had no bearing on the story
• A needlessly dense yet emotionally perceptive MC.
• Harem may later include his mother and that’s just a no from me chief.(dryads can only mate with one person, he sees her as a “sister” for some reason, and they’re unusually close for the normal route of family. I just hope I’m wrong.)
• The other nations are simply left behind much too early. Instead of them being other respected sovereign states the MC looks down on them for the most part, despite them actually being important to the greater plot.
• All the punishments given to the MC are just slaps on the wrist or just outright detrimental to the security of the nation. (Chris should have never been put in the admiral position. She’s a bodyguard first and foremost and is shown to be bad at giving harsh orders.)
• The cat aunt is probably the most consistent character in the story.

All in all it’s still an ok manga and I still think it’s fun.
