If you’re looking for a story with intricate depth, profound meaning, or mind-bending complexity, then honestly, look elsewhere. This isn’t that kind of ride. Mr. Zombie is the literary equivalent of a summer blockbuster – a no-holds-barred, brain-off, pure fun experience. Trying to dissect its philosophical underpinnings is pretty much a fruitless endeavor. And you know what? That’s perfectly fine. In a world saturated with grim and gritty narratives, a story that unabashedly embraces its chaotic, entertaining nature is a breath of fresh air. It knows exactly what it is, and it delivers on that promise with a grin.

## Main Character: 9.5/10

The MC is essentially Saitama as a zombie, and he is thousands of years old. And he is a FUCKING GOD.

My only gripe, and it’s a minor one, is the lack of depth. While his surface-level interactions and reactions are good, I sometimes wish for a glimpse into the internal struggles or unique perspectives that thousands of years of undead existence might bestow. But again, this isn’t a deep dive into existentialism; it’s about a zombie punching things really, really hard. And destroying planets.

This is where Mr. Zombie truly shines, often picking up the slack for the main character’s delightful simplicity. The supporting cast is the comedic goldmine of this series. They are typically exaggerated, flawed, and utterly human (or whatever non-human species they happen to be). Their reactions to our zombie deity, their own quirky ambitions, and their often misguided attempts to interact with him provide endless opportunities for humor and unexpected plot developments. Sometimes, it feels like the MC is the normal guy and they’re the crazy ones.

The world of *Mr. Zombie* is, much like its plot, functional and serves the purpose of enabling chaos. It’s not a meticulously crafted, lore-heavy universe. Instead, it feels like a patchwork quilt of familiar post-apocalyptic tropes and fantasy elements, stitched together with a generous helping of whimsy. There are zombies (obviously), but also other monstrous creatures, quirky human factions, and sometimes even magical elements thrown in for good measure. What it lacks in intricate detail, it makes up for in its elasticity. The rules of this world seem to bend whenever the plot demands a new scenario, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. It prevents the story from getting bogged down in exposition and allows the focus to remain squarely on the titular zombie’s escapades. Don’t expect a *Lord of the Rings*-esque level of world-building; expect a playground where anything can and likely will happen.

From what I’ve seen, the art style of *Mr. Zombie* perfectly complements its tone. It’s often clean and expressive, with character designs that highlight their personalities, whether they’re comically terrified humans or impressively destructive monsters. The action sequences, while not overly detailed, effectively convey the scale of the main character’s power – you truly feel the impact of his attacks. Crucially, the art leans into the comedic timing, effectively delivering punchlines through exaggerated expressions and visual gags. If you look closely, you will notice that sometimes, for example in the tsunami scene, they use straight-up photos, and that really works well for a background in such catastrophic situations.
