The artist messed up. The “ball bearing” the author was referring to was just an individual steel ball, not the entire assembly.
You can buy bearing balls in bulk for fairly cheap, but the bearings themselves are a lot more expensive. It would be a waste.
It also repeatedly came up in the novel that he leaves mysterious metal balls behind at his crime scenes and nobody could figure out what they were.

Bro, Chase Hall is a damn Genius! What the hell?! Bro has only known about Magic in what? A week? And he’s already figuring it out like he knew it already. My God, if it was this easy to use Magic, and MC has been on the run for a week, how has G.A.R. not been overthrown? Why hasn’t there been an resistance to their tyranny or another Government on Magic?
Also, I know this is set in America, the Motels, Cia, Black Man, the Names and the Sheriff give that away. But so far, the Manhwa hasn’t really acknowledged that fact. So, is G.A.R. global? Or are they just in America? Does Europe, China or Russia have their own?
