Summary

A brief description of the manhwa Paranoid Mage:

All of Callum’s life, he has witnessed oddities such as creatures, monsters, and wizards that live among humans in secret. Callum doesn’t want to be a part of it, though, even after he awakens his gateway magic. Every new mage is required by the Guild of Arcane Regulation to provide fealty, education, and service. Nevermind that. They need to catch Callum first if they want him.

A refreshing manga. You are reading but feels like watching a really good movie at the same time. Written so well. I feel it has a really good potential to be an anime for adults.

i usually dont like magic in the real world stories, this is the best one, the magic system is good, the story is fire, and the characters are really portrayed well

Up to chapter 46 so far read.

This series name should be Rogue Mage and not paranoid mage as there is nothing much to do with paranoia.

MC get caught when he first time use magic being something 30 years old and then made 2 options. Either work for us as a slave or we just eliminate you as you cant exist without working under us.

Paranoia is something that you have of something that is not really out to get you but you feel like everything is out to get you. In this story there are beings out to get the mc killed for the reason that he dont want to be under their guild as he dont have any freedom

Liking this a lot. Very hard to find something I haven’t read, had a decent amount of chapters, and enjoyed reading as well.

reminds me of the vibes in Monster (manga/anime) or The Bourne Identity

I liked the first 40 chapters enough I started reading the novel. Kinda slight small small spoilers: the novel is much more detailed and inconsistencies like where he got bags of cash and why he doesn’t cut people’s heads off with his magic is explained more there

i just remember thinking about those when reading here and it was nice to read about in the novel

After reading 40 chapters:

This is not the like South Korean manhwa, it is much more similar to a graphic novel from the 90-ties from the USA or Europe, just in webtoons format.

The world is made up of the True Blood classic of Vampires, Shifters, Whickes and Fae. The plot is the lone rough against the evil organisation.

The art is impeccable, good, solid in the realistic style, without any “wow” elements. Most intriguing so far is the interpretation of the Fae, the rest is standard, no surprises.

I kind of wished I had left this story until there were more chapters, as it is addictive and I am not very found of waiting and reading in small potions when I get sucked into a story, and this comic had that quality.

The main person is a good man who easily empetice with people in danger, and at least this reader also starts to care for a handful of the characters in the story.
