She was killed for no reason. She saw the assassin, and the skills he used. She would have kept it quiet for her future, and it’s not like you can cover his death up by getting rid of her.
That said, the granny had it coming, plz die of anger, pretty please 
MC really needs to learn how to properly clean up things. It’s very unbecoming of an assassin trained to leave no trace behind to still be so clumsy after 7 years of training. I said nothing when he was almost caught back in the training, he had little time and all, but this time he really should have planned his escape a bit better.
