This is reminding me of a book about a real story. teh book is called teh Royal chess game, and it is about a man who is trapped within the same cell for mayn years, as his conciousness tears him apart. It was an interrigation method used to drive people mad and to draw out their secrets. really brutal stuff, and I feel like thats really similar to what is happening here.
