We still don’t know if Janette was in favor of booting Russell, or if she’s actually jealous of Emma, or if she’s even into the Hero. I wish there were more scenes revealing the thoughts of the childhood friends.
So Katie seems to be trying to get the girls to get closer to the “hero”. She is likely the goddess who gave them their classes and she somehow expected Russell to be a female who would also have been in the “hero’s” party (likely as a love interest so that he would have a harem that would be willing to sacrifice everything to help him).
