Wow, was a good overall series. What do I mean by “was?”
People in the comments section brought up that, while there’s technically room for it to continue, it probably won’t. The author and artist have creative differences on the continuity of the series and unless they reconcile, it’s done.
Chapter 17 is probably the axe, and to an extent one can consider it an “open-ended ending.”
You need to turn your brain off pretty bad for the world to make sense. So the Hero’s party has a once in a lifetime saint and hero, yet despite this there’s no political desire to manipulate them, instead of offering wealth, status, training, and equipment to the hero, who is trying to defeat the demon king, they just outright completely ignore him.
And this doesn’t seem to be done in a cruel way, it’s oddly just “expected” in this world.
They let him and his party risk their lives in the fights, with no oversight whatsoever. They don’t even explain what their skills are or optimized strategies for healers to level. And because of this, the healer doesn’t level well enough and ends up dragging down the healers party, before they kick him out. It’s odd no one in the party bothered to collect information about healers and their long-term capability, and had to be directly told long after they kicked him out of the party.
Well, anyways, as you know the mc’s friend becomes the hero, and it seems it was an obvious bad choice. His friend doesn’t have any of the qualities of a Hero, he’s mean spirited, a womanizer, immature, and cruel. Yet despite years of considering him family, the mc never once noticed this, nor did anyone tell him.
The mage girl of the group has like 7-10 lines throughout the whole thing. She’s a completely neutral analysist with no personality or development.
The other girl, the paladin, loved the mc for the longest time. And even so, she still goes along with abandoning the mc believing it’s for his own good. Which doesn’t really make sense, since she only wants to be with him, so you’d think she’d leave the hero to be at his side. The mc even brings it up, saying “they preferred him, that’s why they’re not by my side now.”
For her, by the end of the series, there is a catharsis, where she leaves the hero and chases after the mc, almost dying. The mc decides to force himself to love her in order to use the resurrection miracle spell, which brings her back to life. The hero’s party seems remiss but not too upset to have lost her.
The long awaited meeting between the hero and the mc never comes. There’s no fight between them, there’s no meeting up again. There’s barely a moment of regret the hero’s party faces when they realize they shouldn’t have kicked out the mc.
It was clearly implied the diety of light was Katie (I think was her name?) Who joined the hero’s party. Yet there’s no real confirmation, because the series ended too soon.
It’s disappointing, but it’s an unfinished mesh. A few of the loose ends:
-Why are “makers” called demon kings?
-Why do deities and makers hate each other?
-Why do the sister deities hate each other?
-Why is the night deity hated and called evil despite being shown as only good?
-Why did the demon king say “she’s not your ally, she’s only using you.”
Despite the complaints I’ve made about the poor world building and the loose ends that are probably never gonna be tied, I still found myself pretty satisfied with the story. It was an enjoyable read for what it was, but it missed out on too much of what it should have been. It was ultimately a disappointment even if the whole way through I was interested.
6.5/10
ahhhh, i wish there was more D:
and i guess this is now the first manga i’ve read lol
2 years and only 13 chapters…

Nega what the hell is wrong with you
It’s actually better than most stories of the same type for the sole reason that the MC is refreshing. He’s a self-centered child that wants to be the MC of the world or smth. Problem is, he wasn’t given that role (or at least, the role he wanted), so he blames everything but himself. Well, was.
He, of course, immediately gets the power up he needs to be the MC he has always desired, and all of a sudden he’s undergone his character development — whether or not he’s going to be sht is still unseen (ch7 as I’m typing this). We’re at the part of the story where the first party wants him back tho, so we’ll find out soon enough.
Other than the MC, the whole premise sounds promising. A lot of things to uncover from this world’s lore.
Do not think I’d recommend at this time it is rather cliched, perhaps wait for more chapters are released than should have a good understanding of the story and characters. There is potential and I hope they do more with the story than a simple MC is OP.
considering 4 chapters pretty decent even if a little cliche
.
4hot teas out 5
if not for the certified idiot MC, this is actually pretty good.
A good story, tragically axed too soon. I loved the visual art. There are problems; the class and levelling systems get explained in several different ways but never make sense, the larger politics of the goddesses and demons never get explained, the main characters and deities are all very immature. Still, there was a lot of potential in the web of relationships and shifting allegiances, and the characters are flawed in real ways. A strong recommend!
