I guess you just got unlucky and have the wrong opinion lol, people getting very upset at you for pointing out something in the story. The blacksmith “had a chance to help”, in the sense that he could have taken a risk and stood up for Rubia. He probably would have been beaten or killed if he stood up to the guard; maybe he could have warned her when she walked in, but it looks like those guards showed up right after she bought the armor (not sure how it got back to the inn, but whatever). I think it’s pretty similar to the mc. The mc assumed that his lives are limited, and that he will always go back to the start, so it makes sense that he should get as much info as possible in this life before resetting, allocating skill points, and trying again. On the other hand, his new friend Rubia had just died, he just finished completely altering his outlook on life from “protect mistress” to “protect all friends”, and in that sense it’s a little weird he wouldn’t immediately kill himself and go “ok, I will take zero fucking chances this time, not leaving her alone ever.”
Mc assumed certain things about his situation, but could have also assumed that his powers are volatile and he shouldn’t take the chance of waiting too long before going back. The blacksmith assumed he could do nothing, but could have also at least tried to help. I don’t think it’s weird of you to be mad at the mc or the situation, but at least this isn’t some braindead mc who is literally hard running it down every chance they get and then blaming others or just rationalizing that they did nothing wrong.
Mc has spent the entire story telling himself he failed because he’s weak, needs to get stronger, regretting the people he hasn’t been able to save. He gets mad at the blacksmith, then the blacksmith calls himself pathetic and explains he’s a weak shitter and a coward and couldn’t have done anything. I think it’s a really good, subtle thing to have the mc let go of him and not say anything about it after that, almost like the author is aware of the parallels.
Hoping he’ll be able to hard reset at some point, because I doubt Rubia’s out of it for good (copium). Either way, you made the second replier dragoness mald at you very hard because they think you have brainrot for thinking differently from them, so kudos. I really wish he would have reset but I also think he’s been pretty intelligent about his unknown powers, he just happened to make a mistake – this isn’t an isekai, he can see the text but he doesn’t seem to have any video game knowledge, he wouldn’t think about resetting “spawn points” and such.
Anyway, sorry for massive wall of text, excited to keep reading and hope we get to see Rubia not get raped and then suicide. :)))

You are most definitely just being a b***h because I’m not sure if you have puffs for eyes but it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t know quack about his abilities nor was there any way he could know he wouldn’t be sent back to the start again. The blacksmith OBVIOUSLY chose not to help Rubia when she entered the shop because he was scared, the blacksmith had a chance to help her and he didn’t. MC had no chance of helping her because he wasn’t even with her, he couldn’t have known. MC has a right to be angry because unlike him the blacksmith could’ve helped or at least warned her but he didn’t. Now get your head out your a$$ and start actually paying attention to the story and all of its details instead of jumping straight to your crazy hysteria.

Hindsight is always 20/20, as the expression goes. He doesn’t know much of anything about his newly acquired skills. As far as he could assume, he would always go back to that point. He also assumed that there might be a limit on the number of times he could come back. In assuming there’s a limit, you wouldn’t waste a single chance by restarting before you are prepared. Also, you are imposing your own knowledge of manga and games onto a character who only has the knowledge of a low-level skeleton in a medieval world. He thought he was going to get another chance. He wanted to get as strong as he could before regressing. It’s not his fault that his skill had hidden unknown limits. The first 4 deaths were used trying to save her once. Then he got a new necromancer. Two hidden skill conditions he knew nothing about. With those factors in play, he never had a chance to save Rubia in the first place. He’s upset at the blacksmith, because the blacksmith did have a chance and did nothing to help Rubia. The blacksmith could have warned her as soon as she went in his shop to buy armor. He’s allowed to be upset. He did nothing wrong, and the odds were stacked against him. If you want to be upset, be upset with the author for creating a storyline to cause you so much frustration.

As much as I’d like him to get revenge for his second waifu, it might be his doom. I don’t think he can take on them all alone. Maybe with some strategy? Not gonna be easy anyway.
