Also casually spoilering japans true mission, very clumsy. One of the reasons I’m not so keen on multi-level-told storylines. Gives you, as the reader, an omnipotent viewpoint which in turn makes character decisions seem way dumber, at the very least, if you’re not actively trying to understand stuff and actually just wanted to skim some cool story or whatever.
