The author did her dirty by caving to the audiences desire for “generic same-y art and character designs that sell.” Not every main character needs to follow conventional beauty standards.

I’ve noticed in many of the manwha I’ve read that the artists like to pair a tall broad-shouldered man with smol-ish women, about 80% of his height (he’s usually at least 1 head taller than she is). While I’m not into tall muscular women myself, I feel it was a dick move to shrink Einar (I think it’s actually supposed to be spelled this way, translators are spelling it phonetically most of the time). While I will admit she actually does look a lot more approachable to me, personally (as well as others), I can’t help but feel like a tremendous mistake was made here to forcefully change her to be more desirable to more people.
We already have enough smol waifus (so to speak) in this story that could easily be partnered with Bjorn. Why did the creators think it wise to morph Einar to conform with the rest? It’s not like she was taller or more intimidating than Bjorn to begin with.
I was hoping this manwha would’ve diverted from the rest by introducing a (nearly) equal possible partner to the main character, one as competent and imposing as Bjorn, and Einar proved to be most promising in that respect. It’s not enough that she retains her own strength and even gains new abilities, because for some illogical reason it also shrinks her and reduces her intimidating form. I’m sad to see that this change was brought about, and can only hope it will be reverted later on… or maybe she will wind up falling for someone none of us expected and make the most of her new situation.
Only time will tell at this point.

God I miss Ainar’s muscles. Her absorbing that essence is the single most tragic event in this story so far.
So chocked seeing Bjorn complain about his non planned essence, knowing he lied to Aynar about the size reduction effect of the essence she took.
With that, Ainar was not the badass warrior anymore but a detestable slim woman cliché… I was very upset by this scenario choice. For once we have a big woman warrior !
I hope Aynar will regain her original form, even if Bjorn have to give her the ring !
I’m confused actually, I was thinking that barbarian is one of job as in game, however, some dialogues showed that it is a tribe. Then, another dialogue suggested that barbarian is actually a different species than human. So what exactly is it?

MC practically fed her an essence she didn’t want as well. Also I don’t like how they made her a generic girl. Her personality and still muscular structure makes it ok in my eyes but still… she lost a huge chunk of her uniqueness. Not to mention she was once an equal to the MC… tall, strong and levelheaded… but now she’s small, thinner and panicking… not to mention other npcs are now gooning over her!
