Well, this might be the first chapter in this whole manga that made me cry rather than laugh. I love this series so much, and Shizuoka is just precious. I was about ready to make Shizuka’s mom’s dead eyes a little deader, but this is a good step towards healing, so forgiveness is in order. Mama still don’t know about the other 23 girls though… not sure how well she’d handle that 😂

Weirdly had this very talk with my early adult age daughters last night. About parents who assume they always know what their kids wants. Sure, some of it is control (we’re human after all) but a lot of it is worry. But when worry becomes destructive of your child’s ability to enjoy life now…that becomes a major issue. And not one easily fixed. So, yes, Shizuka’s mom has made major mistakes. But, Shizuka saw that it was at least in part motivated by her love for her. Tough situation. I thought my kids with their autism was rough…at least they can talk sans phone or book.
But dang, another heartfelt chapter and then ends with an absolutely adorable kiss. How can anyone not love Shizuka?
But I sure didn’t have Shizuka and Nano as the first bath scene outside the Honazono household!

I think the best emotional chapters have been Shizuka ones throughout this story. Yes, she’s among my fav two or three, but, her character draws your empathy out the most and…she’s so darn cute!
And she and her mom just took a big step forward. Well done author…again.
I love Shizuka so damn much, not nearly as much as Rentarou does though
