Here’s my guess. When he accepted the dragon marble it made him go mad for awhile because it had lingering hate for humans by the dragon who made it.

Holy plot twist? I could try to guess but honestly the writing was so good this chapter I’d just rather keep reading. Just when you thought the plot was settling down it pulls you back in!
Also I liked Rurin having the spotlight, it’s been too long since we had a chapter that focused on just her.
