in think i understand now… This story is about those pokemon players, who do playthrough challenges with the mod that makes certain pokemon into a female catchable waifu.
and every time they reach a new area, they release all pokemon they previously found. catch the local ones… and use those.

The author can’t even decide on the location setting.
They were in a (somehow deserted) city with (including ground level) st least 3 storeys (plus roof) high buildings, when they heard the commotion.
After that they were observing it from the woods and only see a small lone house with a garden wall.
It’s a world with monsters FFS! And bandits, apparently. You don’t plonk down a house somewhat outside the city and only surround it with an easy climbable wall! Unless you want the city to be invaded. Well, the city is empty, so I doubt anybody would care.
