I noticed that in some, if not most, fantasy manga will sometimes introduce technology (something like magic-tech or similar) but none of their living conditions are advanced and stay as the traditional fantasy-medieval style whether it’s buildings or basic medicine.
I’ve heard people say that magic is the cause for the lack of advancement since they don’t rely on science, but wouldn’t it be the opposite? If magic is such an amazing thing, then why don’t they use magic to do things science cannot, and slowly advance civilization?
Like this manga, for example. They have magic guns and yet-to-be-seen technology, however, their homes look like they could be blown down by the big bad wolf (a bit of a stretch, but still).
I was thinking about this yesterday, not sure if anyone else had the same thought.
This only points out more and more how much they messed up when the MC resigned… original alchemic scrolls that only he can make and use… Good luck trying to get another monster like the MC
