The Guild Official With The Out-Of-The-Way Skill “Shadowy” Is, In Fact, The Legendary Assassin

”Over powered mc but he’s trying to live a normal life”. Not the most original plot line, but it’s implemented well enough I find it at least interesting enough to read. Mc is an op assassin who instantly masters any magic he sees, but he’s not flaunting or cocky with his power, and has his priorities mostly straight in life: “Living a normal life”, despite having no clue what that means as someone who’s only lived as a cold blooded killer, and results in him accidentally becoming respected/loved (for those in his “harem”) by all he encounters, except all the cocky aristocrats who look down on him and are quickly put in their place (sometimes the grave, or blackmailed into humility from his assassin past). Mc’s personality is very cold or at least distant but polite to respectable strangers, and often awkward which adds to the comedy aspect, but when he warms up to the few important people in his life he shows that he’s not just a cold blooded killer and can make for extremely wholesome endings for some chapters. Also, the “harem” relationship is more one sided so it’s not unbearable like other stories where girls fall for him for no reason, and he also has his one demon lord waifu who he chooses over the others that fawn over him (except for a few lewd scenes, but they really decrease as the story progresses more).
All in all, the mc’s op-ness is handled in a good fashion that prevents it from getting too boring as it’s not the focus of the series, but rather he uses his combat prowess to help advise the inexperienced adventurers, as well as working to handle political drama and putting cocky politicians, bandits, knights, and a whole plethora of people in their place, with several amusing jokes and comedy along the way as he slowly learns how to truly live a normal life.
