The Heavenly Path Is Not Stupid - Chapter 76
Comments for chapter "Chapter 76"
Ey, subcontracting!
On a serious note the problem could just be solved by hiring someone who actually knew how to do the work. The analogy is idiotic because if the official’s salary is enough to hire 10 people the government could instead just hire someone who actually knew how to do the work with a tenth the pay of the official. For example, let’s say you pay the official 55 dollars a day (exact values not relevant, this is just an example.). Let’s say he hires 10 people, paying each one 5 dollars a day to do the work, keeping the last 5 dollars for himself.
Now, here’s where the analogy breaks down: the government could just hire a few of those 10 people. For example, let’s say they need three people – the job is now done for only 15 dollars an hour, instead of the original 55. Why would the government choose to pay $55, rather than $15? Thus this example is invalid and does not provide any legitimacy to his point.
