I think it would be good if he were to learn martial arts from those monks, like observe their movements, learn them and shet, I don’t know.

Hmm….”close your eyes.” The next fighter can either blind, control him with eye contact, or use illusions. Might be others, but they would have to be something where closing your eyes benefitted the MC. Like maybe harm him somehow if his eyes are open, like maybe searing light that blinds and also confuses, stuns, or causes massive pain or something. And blind seems kind of lame, as “closing your eyes” is effectively blindness. I’m betting on illusion, since vision is our #1 sense as humans.
