It’s a little jarring how the author moves past the subjugation team’s massacre so quickly, as if everyone just got over it in a single night’s sleep. The morale of the devasted soldiers would be in the dumps, and their strain and exhaustion would’ve needed time to recover. Considering how many died in the previous chapters, more than half of the team was killed, which would make any fighting force incapacitated.
