If each individual ring kept making more of itself like this, it wouldnt take long to be a problem without the added duplication. The original story is that it makes gold rings and not magic rings with equal power. But for there to be so many in such a short period of time they would have to be making magical copies with the same duplicative properties.
this means that after a year (40, 9 day cycles), there would be 147+ Undecillion rings.
if it is a ring that only makes 8 normal gold rings like the original it would be 320 gold rings, plus draupnir, after a year.
