Summary
A brief description of the Isekai Ryouridou manga:
The son of the tavernager Tsurumi Asuta is 17 years old. He goes to school and helps his father serve clients who drop by “Tsurumi-ya” for a bite to eat. But being torn out of this calm routine, the kid is transported into a world full of terrible monsters with which he will have to fight. It’s good that after battles he is comforted by local damsels. Yes, and they feed well here.

17 year-old son of a restauranteur will have to take over the family restaurant when his father is injured (but not killed) by truck-kun. The ‘accident’ is obviously an attempt by a corrupt developer to get rid of the old family place to make way for new development. It gets more obvious when the restaurant is set on fire (possibly by truck-kun), and all of this is much more exciting than the story that follows.
Because the kid rushes into the restaurant to save his father’s kitchen knife and is promptly isekai’d into a primitive world where survival is too hard to worry about the taste of the food. He gets protected by a girl of the same age who is a chief by virtue of being her clan’s last member. She lives as a hunter in a society that does not have female hunters. He appeals to her because his girlish weakness and fussiness match her manly toughness, and because marrying any man within her people would mean the end of her clan, and she wants to preserve the lineage.
So she’s interesting, and the clan politics and taboos are interesting, and the interaction of the primitive forest people with the city dwellers is interesting. Naturally, then, we spend all of our time with the milksop boy as he struggles to find ways to replicate Japanese cuisine, mainly hamburgers and grilled meat, in this new world. Oh, and never ever ever try to get with the amazing willing girl he lives with.
It’s dumb and provincial and full of hints at stories that are way more interesting that we can’t see. That said, all the endings are happy (well, not unpleasant, anyway) and all the young women are hot. If you’ve ever thought about developing a fetish for Amazons, this one is for you. Otherwise, it’s moderately entertaining and not too bothersome.
just needed to drop somthing cos this is bad its just repeated its not an adventure not tragedy not eachi not comedy not even a slice of life just pure cooking well just had to point that out otaly deserves 2/5 rating
Chapters 50 & 51 are visibly not by the same artist as previous chapters (too many differences in the art).
Chapter 50 broke sequence with the story from previous chapters.
Feels like fake chapters, did they change both writer and artist?
Ping me someone when they finish it this has been updated so slow its been 6 fu*** years, there are reason I stopped reading japanese manga
This is not a good manga imo. Gets extremely boring. if that that high school chef thing was 3/5 this is more like 2.3/5

Me: Oooo this has a 4.4 rating, can’t wait to read it!
Looks at the comments below: ok, i’ve seen enough.
My review from chapter 37
2 stars
This is a recipe book with other world crops as ingredients. I honestly have a hard time following the plot, because most of the time there is none. They have moments where some things happen but they get resolved fairly quick. Cliffhangers have practically no payoff, worldbuilding is nonexistent, character development is barely a thing, and I’m pretty sure they repeated the same plot over and over again. There are no antagonists that are threatening in the slightest. They tried to make one of the families in the tribe seem important and powerful but they failed to establish anything about them to make you feel that power so it was all pointless. I have never really been this bored from a manga before.
Aside from one mildly interesting arc, I can’t find any real reason to pick this up. Because all this is is watching people cook and come up with new recipes. I get it, its a cooking manga. However this is far from the first cooking manga I’ve seen and they had way more to them than just recipes and cooking. You know a bad cooking manga deserves a cooking metaphor.
Because like cooking, you cant just throw in a chunk of meat in a pan and expect it to be interesting. You need to cut out what’s not needed so it doesn’t leave a bad taste, season it properly to make it more interesting for the recipient, and cook it at a proper pace as to not burn it or make the recipient loose interest because its taking too long. This entire manga is like just shoving that meat on a grill left on low heat while occasionally putting some salt on it.
I’m not the best with metaphors but I’m hoping that still got across.
Typical feminine soyboy Japanese protagonist, if this was a manhwa you’d see the protagonist training with zero harem and possibly a decent romance story instead of this shitty one sided relationship which is only kept amusing by the constant fan service/ ecchi scenes.
Fuck mangas all my boys like manhwas
