Return of the Elemental Lord

I just read this so you don’t have to. Hope you read this comment, otherwise you’re probably going to have a bad read. (Who even starts a manga without looking at the commenters?)

This is the interpretation of a shounen, but to the female gaze. Imagine what a woman would think of a boy traveling the world:
1) no aim: he travels just because. He wanders aimlessly and there’s no reason why he moves, he just does. The manwha says it is “to find himself” but that doesn’t actually mean anything: it’s just plot-driven.
2) no killing. This guy refuses to kill not only enemies, but even monsters: goblins, ogres etc. (the 2 wolves in the beginning being the only exception). This is the same for greedy feud lords and their guards: they get knocked out and then cured!
3) attitude: it’s worse than a woman. He never shows any emotion (and it’s not an art problem, but a plot problem), he never gets back to others, he is very submissive. Really unsatisfying.
4) power ups: there are power ups, but not only they are all plot-driven, but they are not celebrated nor highlighted. It’s like “oh yeah then my spirit did this thing because a stranger was in danger!” (No, that is really what happened).
5) no epic moments. Even in the rare instance he fights, there are no words, there are no thoughts or dialogue so you can savor the 2 panel fight scene, the fight scenes are mostly skipped to the part when he cures the enemy.
6) !! MOST IMPORTANT !! clickbait title: you think he is an OP guy since he is a reincarnated spirit king, but he actually doesn’t remember anything, and doesn’t know how to use his advantage. Every single solution he has for any given problem is dumb, and you could think of other 10000 ways to do it faster or better. It’s clear that this expedient is used for the plot to develop in the most annoying direction.

One of the least satisfying manwhas I’ve found in this website.
Even if the MC is not a female, there’s basically no difference, this really should not have the shounen tag, since then people would think it’s for men.
