Summary
A brief description of the manhwa The Genius Magician who Sees the Rainbow:
In the slums lived a young boy named Ray who lacked emotions.
He suddenly gained the ability to see “colors” that no one else could, and he had the power to control them.
One day, he lost his shelter, an underpass, and his friends to a magician. He even lost Niles, whom he had believed in and followed.
The emotionless boy swore to take revenge, beginning his search to regain his emotions.

whispers*: he can taste the rainbow
Really boring story where everything is dragged out as much as possible

It’s about friendship and empathy in a dystopian world. After reading 32 chapters I really enjoy it. It has it’s own touch, both the story, the characters and the art. All good and to my liking.

oh? this is hot now?
has potential but more filler than a dentist office. you spend four chapters in a burning building with them talking in a circle
MC is like Jack the ripper from RoR, can see emotions as color
Since emotions are tied to magic in this world, he can see magic in a way no one else can
rainbow is a slang for f@gg0t!
is he from lgtvhdmi?

Will be back after we have +45 chapters.

“Rainbow” terms sure change a lot nowadays

He part of them lgtv’s 🧓🏻

interesting title.🕊️

Good concept, not so good execution , overall its a slow burn ,also title having rainbow is a murder. It should be prism instead
The title… I only can see a magician who found a bag of Skittles.
I’ve read to Chapter 34 so far:
It’s like Infinite Mage + Helmut. A child who has lived a nearly feral life, who has a talent for visualizing magic, loses the ones he loves and goes out into the bigger world to explore and learn more about himself, emotions, magic, and get revenge upon the people who have killed his friends and made siblings.
The drawing style is rough, but the not terrible. The story is a little simple but the magic system has been fairly cohesive. The characters have slightly stunted dialogue but it does the job. The fighting is so so, but the story about the world and what he learns is more exciting anyway.
The world as a background is honestly a little weird. Reminds me of something like Ergo Proxy where you have these separated city states that don’t seem to talk to each other? But maybe this is just how the world seems from the view of an orphan child.
I don’t think this story particularly excels at anything, but I like the focus about the MC learning about feelings and learning to deal with trauma, grief and building relationships. I’m going to stick to it and see if it holds my attention, but so far I think it’s pretty decent. Enough to keep on reading at least.
Overall, I think it’s about 6.5/10 or 7/10 but I think it holds my attention and I’m willing to continue reading.
If you like magic mixed with certain bits of contemporary tech (mostly cars, guns, etc) and a story with a slower self assured pacing, and themes of learning and building relationships with a lot of violence in it, then this is probably worth looking at.
