Summary

A brief description of the webtoon Rise of the Devourer:

Noah Brown has a gift for fighting. Unfortunately, punching things doesn’t pay his bills. At least, that was the case until he dies and an Eldritch god finds his soul. The strange encounter brings him to a new world, summoned by bloody cultists. He’s got nothing but the shirt on his back and a strange item of unknown power he isn’t yet sure how to use. If he wants to survive, maybe even thrive, perhaps it’s time he finally put his gift to good use.

I remember droping this on Royal Road back when it first came out… I get their is a market for power fantasy but the MC was making dogshit stupid decisions and being rewarded for it… Oh the world has healing magic that can re-grow my arm? nah I’ll just bonk on this unkown alien parasite..it”l be fiiiiiine

It’s one of these rare stories in Manhwa where it actually is isekai and not regression that majority of the fantasy manhwa are.

So far with the 21 chapters out it’s ok read. Well 20 chapters as one was repeat. Well at least so far there is no harem in this that is the most annoying part of all isekai. Made by pdf for the pdf

this is pretty good actually, the art is nothing special but it has a nice mix of body horror with regular fantasy
MC is strong but he’s not invincible and he has limits to what he can do. His powers are also original, a mix of blood mage and space magic (tho he’s currently limited to teleporting and destroying stuff)

We actually see him exploring his abilities instead of automatically learning how to do everything
