The Steel Emperor

One of the few manhwas on this site with a high rating that I won’t contest. (I personally think it sits at 4.7 by Mangaread standards)

Coming into this series after reading the reviews I was expecting a historical manhwa about an army getting isekai’d; and that’s basically what happened but I’m glad that the historical aspect is only loosely tied in as only occasional mentions of their old world is sprinkled about. It’s not a dark series per se but a lot of situations where morals are questionable exist, although it’s nothing too extreme and mostly just extreme exploitation.

My main gripe with the series is the timeline in between events. I know it’s for the progression of the story so as to not stretch out the story, but having .5 chapters with small scribbles illustrating how specific events from previous chapters were possible despite not being properly explained.

(Eg. All of the people who were transmigrated seemingly had knowledge about magic before being told about it, with some even being able to wield it despite it never being mentioned in the scenes of their past world and we never get an explanation about how this was possible.) (Maybe I missed a chapter…)
