Summary
The stories of heaven and earth have nothing except similarity. The Divine Sword and the Blade of Demonstrasion. Two Authorities Overlooking the Martial World The descent of the demonic blade comes down to an apparently average child called “Ban Tongmi”. Like a fool he had hated his father, who was only industrious and conscientious. But he started to see just how remarkable his father’s life actually was. The demonic blade starts to flash at that same instant.

Story is going no where
Reading this manhwa is reminiscent of the old classical xianxia stories like The Legend of The Condor Hero and such. This is a slow burn story, so if you lean more into fast paced high adrenaline fight scenes this is not for you. But if you are starving for classical xianxia drama where humans interaction, drama, plot, and the martial culture of ancient China is the main course, then this story will serve you exactly what you need. Nuf said, this is a great journey as of chapter 68.
I don’t want to spoil anyone, but I rate this manhwa 4.8/5 due to the rarity of such manhwa nowadays. The author is such a good story teller and quite the ambitious one.
Expected nothing less of peerless Dad Author
Update at chapter 64 today. Still slow, still very character focused. It reminds me a lot of Crouching Tiger. A lot of factions and mysterious figures. A lot of underhanded maneuvering from conniving figures almost Shakespearean villainy. And those with marital powers only move around in the background, trying to stay out of the world of people.
The quote “…Good men do nothing” is very true in this world. The morally just do not want to use their power to rule, so they are left to protect the weak in hard places, while those who have no shame to use their power to control live in the cities, making a mockery of that power.
I think, for a long, long while, we will not get to see good men fight back in this comic. So if you are looking for a quick catharsis, it will not come in this one. The story has now become linear but it shifts between many, many characters, so it’s still a bit harder of a read than a normal manhwa. Not impossible, it’s not like you’re reading James Joyce here, but it is a little bit more effort than normal.
But the art and the choreography is quite good. I still like it. Even if the releases are random and slow.
Wow truly amazing reading the other reviews really gave me a rough idea of what I was getting myself into. It was nothing short of amazing 9/10
Hard to read. Bad storytelling. Should start telling something seemingly so random after everything familiar first.
An interesting manhwa with a very good drawing. But. There are too many characters and parallel plots in it, so it will be impossible to keep track of the course of the narrative if you do not read all the chapters at once.
This is not for those looking for an easy read with simple plots and “good” vs “evil” stories. This is a long, non-linear, slow exploration of the jianghu.
This is for people who remember what classic wuxia is really like. No regression, no reincarnation, no isekai, no system. It’s about people with families, pride, worries, etc. It’s about all sorts of human characters who aren’t perfect.
The art is top tier. The fighting is absolutely correct to true martial forms, and easy to follow. Because of how wordy it is, and how slow it is, I’m guessing this isn’t even going to get a steady release from a scan group.
If you decide to read this, be aware that it might take months for the next chapter. Thankfully as of chapter 33, we have a consistent group, but we’ll see how long that goes.
If you are somebody who loves murim stories, and have been hankering for something more akin to “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” and less “Isekai in China” then I completely recommend. But it is slow and it can be confusing if you are unfamiliar with non-linear intros.
after 37 chapters released, it’s pretty high tier.
Owh a tale of that Israeli Tea… I mean coca cola company’s tea… But same thing.
Beginning is strange. It does matter in the story but you can honestly skip the first 10 or so chapters.
let me tell you, the pacing? ultimate trash. Chapt 15 and our mc is still missing ,yes i know its a backstory but ffs atleast revolve it around the mc , you will feel it, why would i love to read a background characters who are nothin on the present time line 1/10
I was confused with the plot
This is actually really good.. the style of storytelling is a bit unfamiliar at first as it doesn’t focus around a specific main protagonist but on world building. It’s a living breathing world where different characters from in part opposing factions meet and influence each other spanning over 40 years in the first 30 chapters..
The art is 10/10
The fighting choreography is 10/10
The pacing is good and the characters have depth and are truly believable in how they perceive the world, and how they react to it with a sense of realism..
I thought about dropping in the first few chapters due to the non-linear storytelling and the skipping points of view but the story slowly flows together
Don’t expect a gung ho MC who beats up strong people left right and center or a simple linear story flow
No regression or reincarnation. No system etc. They have internal energy and cultivation but that not really explored yet
Overall I’d rate this 8/10 because with the potential to go 9/10

A backstory about a backstory with a backstory and even conversation is an hour read.before they even draw the sword an DURING THE Fight there is MORE hour long read dialogue with a backstory about how they remember the training and the first time they seen the strike and the fun they had as children learning with difficulty of training to get to this point mind you the entire story is a backstory cuz it’s a guy telling about it in a tavern the whole time I don’t know who’s in charge who’s the MC who’s good who is bad who is who what is what it’s so confusing slowest story about nothing with something at the same time
