Summary

In this story set in the early 1980s, a young man dreams of becoming a renowned comic writer in years to come. His name is HONOO Moyuru. He has no money, only a dream. Then, he feels overwhelmed by his lack of ability, and buys some sake, although he has no head or stomach for alcohol. This is a tortured elegy for any dashing young art student who spends his days careening around in burning ambition.

Note: Was nominated for the 3rd Manga Taisho Award in 2010 and for the 19th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2015. Won 2014 (18th) Japan Media Arts Festival Excellence Award.

Boat Approves. This is a 10/10.

The provided summary is wrong lol.

Basically without any spoilers, it’s a twisted love story with a lot of emotional baggage, walls, and depression and it all adds up to a beautiful climax.

Would’ve loved a part 2, but the story is better this way.

a
masterpiece.
This story goes beyond a normal manga. You can easily apply this to today’s society. Sad and dark story, characters you can sympathize with and a lot of depth. Like no character is useless, everyone fulfills his designated role and over allban insanely good storytelling. I can only recommend it everyone who likes dark, sad manga. 10/10.

It’s amazing binged it and it’s really sad but wholesome(?) I’d recommend for you emo f*ucks who like a good tearjerker story 10/10 one of the best mangas in my top 5

I’ll give my two cents then post something more detailed in a reply;
Quickly realized the description on this site is for a completely different story;
Was still interested. Ended up binging the whole thing in a few hours. Really good series; gets real intense the longer it goes.
