They sort of lost the plot and ability to facilitate a semblance of groundedness in the story. Not complaining about the powercreep and exponential enemy scaling but like at the same time everything lines up a bit too well and they’ve forgotten core elements of the original premise that hooked the readers.

The revenge? Nonexistent. The haunting horrors of the wraiths of his dead compatriots unendingly begging him for revenge? Barely occur. His overwhelming trauma relating to the entirety of the plot fueling his drive and purpose? A small flame puttering out. His twin chain scythes, the coolest part of the introduction? Vanished. Him creating the perfect build only he could accomplish? Fleeting spotlight of the narrative.

The story is sort of bland and doesnt lean too heavily or actually fully implement the concepts they introduce which in turn gives it a big and grandiose scope for such little really shown that entices and draws in readers, but they dont utilize most if not anything they introduce properly or at all. This story is at a great buildup point but if it continues like this with or without a climax to the story’s current arc, retention will drop off as it’s going to become another stale and repetitive slog. Creative, but not well developed and fully drawn out.

The story started with a good premise and potential to get better but it kind of fell off for me. The author keeps adding too many subplots and it’s diluting the main storyline.
