They only interesting thing about this manga and the world is the skill system… Sadly, the said skill system becomes an afterthought pretty quick.
It’s not quite trash, but certainly not something above being mid.
So, I liked this enough to get really annoyed by it’s shortcomings. It has the raw material to make a great manga, but it never goes past good. The storytelling especially stays at a high level for a while and then does something lazy or dumb, which is way more annoying than just being mid.
The art is great, the premise is very good, the characters are likeable and several of them seem to have real motives. The world building is compelling, especially the interesting magic system and its mysteries. The villains are reasonably motivated, the romance isn’t forced, the challenges feel credible despite MC becoming OP. The worst complaint I have is that some of the art feels like pedo bait, but the story is written innocently and the potential love interests are close to MC in age, so there’s nothing you could actually call inappropriate. The related problem is that MC is reincarnated but written as though he usually thinks and feels like a child, even though he remembers being older. Not much older, so you can rationalise it.
It’s just kind of frustrating to read something you can almost get lost in, but not quite, because of dumb, lazy tropes. I still recommend it, I think most people will enjoy it, but be aware there are flaws.
Summary: MC isekais into a world where his Japanese appearance makes him a pariah and he is sold as a child slave. During a mine collapse, he and the slightly older girl he’s close to manage to obtain magic skills, which manifest as magic orbs you absorb. But they get separated, and now he has to learn to fend for himself while evading capture and searching for the girl in the vast world.
No way. Saves me so much time.
fall off but enjoyable
The premise and setting is interesting, but the storytelling is really mid.
A few examples (minor spoilers) are MC repeatedly telling us throughout the story that he’s actually in his late twenties adding up his previous life, but constantly acting like a naive clueless child throughout – meanwhile his love interest is an actual child that acts way too mature with no background as to why she is so calculative and quick to make great decisions. Theres lots of scenes where MC does something obviously stupid, sometimes even comments on it with a “oh no” moment, but continues on with 0 consequences whatsoever through the power of plot armor, and never learns.
Not to mention a cheap power up moment where he’s about to die, just immediately gives up, with a “am I dead? *insert innocent naive child thoughts in the middle of a fight he just voluntarily jumped into* guess Ill die, hope I have a nice peaceful happy life next time!” followed by a side character that just died magically appearing in his head going “No, the power of friendship will make you win!” at the first major fight on top of even more plot armor…. its honestly a bit disappointing, 3/5
Dropped because not my cup of tea. Mc and the characters around him are all 12yos and just don’t grow up for some reason. The actions don’t match the age at all. And there’s an annoying sense of naivete to all the characters.
After reading 36 chapters, this turned out to be a very good read. The story was fast paced, dialogue not heavy, art was clean and presentable, the translator actually helped by keeping the flow and there was enough laughs to keep the story light hearted. Warning: if you are triggered by slavery then skip this manga and don’t bother commenting. There are a few problems that keep it from being a great manga. It is so fast paced that it will jump from scene to scene so fast that you get the feel like its almost that the writer chopped it off and started a whole different manga. The morality issues do sometimes go on for a bit too long, which give the appearance of the mc to whine a bit more then they actually needed to, which is in stark contrast to his jovial, water off the ducks back sort of personality. I will say this is one of the shortest reviews I have done for a manga and can say that this is off to a great start and will be definitely book marking this to see how it goes for future chapters!
Finally, some good fucking manga
Men of culture shouldn’t approve as the “ecchi” here is a false one, maximum at fanservice level. A waste for such an overall good art
3 yr for 28 chapter…legit enough
I found this under the name “Overlimit Skill Holder” and it is completely translated so i guess i will be reading the web novel since the manga is slow on updates.

So you know, I want to just get some random people’s thoughts on this because I’ve noticed. Insane. These kinds of comments on manga that have young looking characters. And people like to horrible that that character is 12 years old. Why are they in this situation? It’s weird. First off, just because the character looks young doesn’t mean they are especially. Here’s the headline. A fantasy made up world. I think we have a problem with people thinking that this stuff is real. And they’re starting to mix. Fiction with reality.’cause I’m the type of person and yeah, I don’t care, I’ll say it. I don’t care if it’s a childlike character or not. It’s a piece of paper. It’s made up. I don’t give a crap. What I find weird is that people are S focused on these. Childlike characters instead of just reading. The manga like it was intended to be read. Instead, they’re hyper, focusing on a character that’s obviously not a child, but they see it as a child. Anybody else feel that way? That these people are weird? I literally just sat down while ago to read a manga. And got comments in the. A section of a tradition. Now check out what everybody was saying. And I literally had to read comments that were like, well, it’s weird that the. EMC has a harem. Of girls. That quote UN quote in our words. Looked like 12 year olds. But it’s OK. He didn’t do anything inappropriate. He treats them like children. I don’t know about anyone else, but that right there makes me mad. Why would you even put something like that in a comment? And the reason why I’m doing it here is because it **** me off so bad that I had to talk about it. And to remind anyone and everyone. That these mangas are not real, none of them are based on real life events. Some of the stories in the old days used to have manga that were actually based on true events, but not anymore because of people like them. I’m sorry if this inconvenienced anyone and it’s long. I just wanted to get it off my shoulders that. They’re just mentally ill people out there that can’t. You know. Tell fantasy from reality.
