A year and a bit after my review, I love this much more than before. The author has settled in to a storytelling groove and patched up the earlier bad habits. The worldbuilding remains top-notch, the various fantastic locations make sense in relation to each other and the world feels vast and lived in. It’s not quite Middle Earth, but similar vibes. The mysteries are proving to be layered, like an onion, and the challenges are escalating at a credible pace. The magic system is robust, the religion seems sensible, the problems are nitpicks at best. I got lost in this world and recommend you do, too, with my highest rating.
Summary: Isekai MC is ‘saved’ from joining a hero party by his native mistrust. As he grows his new powers and looks to explore a new world, he finds it difficult to maintain his independence and avoid getting caught up in the world events prompted by the summoning.
