Summary

A brief description of the manhwa Guard Pass:

Lim Sejun who has a big physique, is fat and likes to eat. He has high self esteem and a firm personality and doesn’t care about being teased fat. He has only one friend, Seo Hajin. Since they were young, she has been learning jiu-jitsu to protect Sejun.

One day, Hajin saw that Sejun had trouble with one of his classmates and destroyed him But one night Hajin was assaulted and found severely injured and serious psychological trauma Sejun reported it to the police but when there is little to no progress in the investigation he couldn’t control his anger and goes to find the criminal himself but was defeated by a bully who learned jiu-jitsu and finds nothing.

Then he learns jiu-jitsu from ‘Jason’ who had saved him. After 3 months of learning, losing weight and knocking down bullies, he discovers that a veiled organisation is involved and wants to destroy it. A school action drama depicting individual revenge.

Read 100 chapters…. Observations

every other side character except MC is interesting… like later chapters if MC is not there in the frame it’s enjoyable….also the story would be way better if MCs girl was the lead or the other brunette or the blonde dude or the boxer …

title should be ~sometimes guard pass~ because Jiu jitsu is not even the central theme… it’s more like Saturn if the Sun is drugs/crime in the story…

My biggest gripe is if you are making the MC a beginner in fighting you should not introduce such an emotional need for revenge.

It is super irritating for a guy to figure out the technicalities of a fight while fighting a bully, if the audience [at least me] want is a nice pounding of the said bully[break bones and skulls ffs] for the crime committed.

There are just too many back stories even but they are kinda good specially of the antagonist roles

Onion cutting ninja, not to bad, but still depressing

Romance, Yes/sorta (not focused upon much)

Fit tags? We are getting farther away from school life and sports doesn’t really work for this manhwa
Violence, A lot like A lot
Comedy, it has several moments

Action, very action pacted
Villains, of course hateable
Plot armor, Doesn’t feel like it exists much XD

Fights, Brutal and Painful (for the gangsters)
Depressing Backstory, Some parent is dead trope (Very average trope)
Anti-hero? I would honestly say everyone just likes to fight and be violent in this manhwa XD
