Summary

A brief description of the manga Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka?:

A mystical case leads to the death of a whole class of Japanese schoolchildren. Instead of the afterlife, schoolchildren are transported to a parallel world, gaining a new chance at life.

The main character, the most unpopular girl in the class, gets a special “prize” from life. She becomes a spider in a cave, where it is not so easy to survive. But can she survive in a dungeon full of dangers, relying only on luck and her own mind?

The first 50 chapters focus on evolution and survival, and I really enjoyed the plot at least until the spider queen died. After that, the story takes a complete turn and shifts entirely to history and politics. The reader is overwhelmed by an endless stream of new characters and dialogues that attempt to explain the overly complex world-building.
It’s disappointing how dull and exhausting the story became, especially since the beginning was so excellent.

Peak manga. Though I don’t want to hate on the other classmates, I like the spider’s story the most and love that the manga focusses on that.

Love it so much. So much better without the time jumps.

We got more story about our favorite spider queens, but at the same time it is behind the anime becouse of those time jumps in anime. I would say 5-8 years behind if i look at the age of the vampire lady (if she is 8-10 years now).

This Manga does not follow the same timeline as the anime and Light Novel. It is very straight forward and does not skip multiple years ahead to the “Present” like the LN and Anime does.
