Summary
A brief description of the manga Shadow Hero’s Daily Life:
“The Great War”. From generation to generation, the hero and Lord of Demons are fighting for survival and power.
In the fourth war – won the hero … this is a fact known to the whole world.
However, the ace up the sleeve of the “organization” on the dark side of the kingdom – does all the dirty work for the country and helps the hero to defeat the Demon Lord from the shadows without attracting attention.
As a unsung hero, Wade hopes to live a peaceful life after the war.
However, defeating a Demon Lord is not enough to bring peace to this world.
This story is about a clumsy boy “behind the scenes”. He fights, opposes and struggles to protect his daily life from evil.
The popular novel is now also in manga format!

Good art good story character development was nice mc was cool and did not expect it to end so soon
8/10
I hated it at first, but 7.2 is when the manga 180 hits and you realize MC is not cut out for civilian life.
8.2/10

Coming into this, I thought Shadow Hero’s Daily Life would be one of the many retired slow life mangas. However, I couldn’t have been further off. Like a previous commenter has stated, The Fruit of Grisaiamust have been a huge inspiration for this series. I mean, the last time I’ve heard of Grisaia was eight or so years ago, but even I recognized that one of the arcs in this manga is a straight spinoff of said inspiration. With that being said though, I used to fangirl over Grisaia so it was a nice nostalgic feeling of experiencing it once again. To the actual plot, each character gets their own arc with the mc also leaving an influence of them. During the side character’s development, the main character is on a journey himself to find his way back in society. Each character gets their own development, even the ones that are meant be throwaways. With that being said, once the supporting character’s arc is over, they aren’t forgotten about and still leave an impression in the story. For the protagonist, he is an emotionless bast@rd so that might be a turnoff for some. However, it seems by the chapter that he is slowly becoming more and more empathetic so he isn’t a one-dimensional brick with no room for growth. The plot doesn’t lack anything besides for the minor plot holes but the art is a bit of a different story. I really wished the manga had a bit better art since the fight scenes aren’t thrilling sometimes; but, it’s not to the point where it ruins the ambiance. Though I’m not going to lie, the immersion would’ve been elevated if said art was the slightest bit better. Overall, this is a great story with great character development. If you were looking for a generic slow life manga with an incontestable mc, then this isn’t the stuff you are looking for. However, if you wanted emphasis on the progression of characters, this might be the thrill you needed.
PS: I do think this is better than The Fruit of Grisaia so if you liked that, prepare to enjoy this. But sadly, I think the manga is very close to wrapping up. Though I say close, each chapter takes a month so it might more or less be a year.

Unless there is a Christmas miracle/curse, all scores are finalized, and I have an innate bias towards stories with snip-bits of romance.
i had a hentai/harem manga in another tab and though it was this and clicked it and finished it before releasing why it when from academy to nude dark elf…
The…actual(?) story feels a LOT like the Grisaia series (if anyone’s familiar with it). Anyway, it’s a good read.
