This is a slow burn, the protagonists are extremely fleshed out but again this is a slow burn. There is a lot of build up around characters but again its a slow burn so I cant say if the build ups will come with payoffs all the time sometimes they do.

The problem with slow burns like this is you’ll end up getting your payoffs and never noticing it because that payoff or build up was across so many chapters it is easy to get numb to it. Further there is a chance the author simply forgot about that payoff which is possible because of the quantity of build up.

With that high level out of the way:

This is more a war novel akin to Kingdom but also very much a Wuxia story so its less battlefield more duelist when the action does happen. The battle field is in the background of off panel entirely sometimes.

The art is really good and the illustration is top notch, you really wont find better theater except in places like Northern Blade.

Dialog and the translation is as far as I can tell top quality.

Even though it’s low rating, i wanted to give it a try only to find out there’s a reason why this garba*e has this rating..
Absolute garba*ge, good art, but pointless.
if i want to just see people rambling on and on and on, I’d read a book or a light novel.

-Lot of reading
-mc is weak but very intelligent
-slow character development
-many charcters but not too many

Good one but if u don’t like this kind of manga don’t read and give bad ratings

This manga is better than the low score people give it. The manga is engaging and the character make sense because the character feel real. The side character doesn’t feel like npc that just give the mc exp or quests. I love the mc, because he understand his strengths and weaknesses. He not overly powerful like other murim manga where the main character overcome challenges through strength alone. This manhwa is a real gem, give it a shot.

This manga is amazing and worth the read. If you ever get tired of mcs only good for plot armor powering through all their problems or screaming ” I never give up ” after getting lucky this is for you. Ppl are mad that mc can’t protect himself physically but this isn’t his strong suite and he acknowledged this In THE FIRST CHAPTER!

I think ppl are misdirecting their frustration at weak mc instead of stupid murim who is getting treated like children by the demon sect. In both strength and intellect the mcs rival the heavenly demon is superior to pretty much everyone. Except who? The mc. Mc is smarter but he can’t execute his full potential because he has no funding motion and his OWN RIVAL admits that!

Mc is now gaining notoriety and he has proven his capabilities to predict his owns rivals plans b4 rival does anything. This is good insecure ppl projecting calling this trash with its beautiful art and fluid plot development are sending unwarranted hate.

read until chap 25. Please look at this before reading, otherwise you’ll be extremely disappointed, since NO COMMENTERS HERE pointed out what’s wrong with this manwha.

This is a murim world. In this murim world, MC has no martial art, no martial talent, no strenght, no anything. He is PURELY a strategist. and i mean it.
The antagonist is the heavenly demon: strongest, intelligent, good looking, always winning, and with strenght to back up his strategies. (he is not dumb. he would have been the perfect MC).

What you will see here is MC using his brain to beg for mercy, or playing mind games. The action will NOT come from MC whatsoever. NONE, NADA. MC IS THE WEAKEST, AND HE DOESN’T GET STRONGER EVER. I hope you got that point.

this is more similar to death note than any other murim manwha. And there are no similarities to death note. You won’t get the opportunity to feel the antagonist (Baek Yoonhoe) as the MC, because except for ch.1, you’ll only see him as an antagonist in batte (of wits against MC; of swords against others)
There are no satisfactory moments, there is no moment where you feel senso of accomplishment or anything. This is no Shounen, it’s such a Seinen that a 60yo is too young to enjoy such a powerless MC.

Now that you know this, make a smart decision.

Oh, and thanks to the other commenters for not writing ANYTHING about this core fact of this manwha; i wasted 3 hours that nobody is going to give me back.

Why is the rating so low lol. This is really good.
Art is 9/10
Mystery and room for world-building 9/10
MC that actually thinks.
But if you’re an edgelord and only like merciless MC’s then for now, this isn’t for you.
Pretty good read. Awesome fight scenes from what I’ve seen so far.
