Summary
A brief description of the manga Truth Weavers:
In the country of Larvata, mages are oppressed and seen as filthy beings. Leon is a talented but rather weak mage. Zechs is an orphan boy with great innate magical talent. Their meeting will change their lives as well as the world around them.

Have you ever read a good manga? like a good good manga? Well, what does it mean to be a good manga? an interesting/original story? good visuals? i would say no. because visuals are subjective and originality depends on what you have read before. Some people like Picasso art, some people hate it. I would say that this story is original, but I haven’t studied the entire website, I’m not Penguin.
What I would define as a good manga, is one that gives you a feeling when you read it. just purely a feeling, a raw deep emotion that you can’t put into words but one that defines what a good manga is and calls on you to label it as such.
That being said, this is an absolutely amazing masterpiece. I like it personally and I doubt I can find a person who reads it and goes like, “hmm, yes, this sucks”. you might not like it because you don’t like the genre, or a certain character or its realistic fantasy. but under no circumstance will you say that it is bad. it’s just good and there is nothing you can do about it.
Now about this manga’s format, it has good black and white art, very realistic and completely unlike the regular fantasy. The human proportions and human “proportions” are well defined and illustrated. Done so in a way that’s isn’t “traditional” so to speak in the usual freedom of mangas. The thing I really like about the art are the emotions and the subtleties thereof one would not expect. There aren’t that many fight scenes to be “epic” and it’s not an “epic” story in the first place.
The updates are pretty unpredictable, sometimes quick with 3-4 day intervals and other times, for example, between chapter 28 and 29 you starve for two months. (that was probably an exception because of the new year or something, but you get the point that there is no schedule.) Regardless of the wait, it’s worth it and the chapters are quite long.
Now, the juicy part. the story, characters and overall “vibe”.
It feels very…human. The character development is phenomenal. Their back stories clearly show how they became who they are now. It’s like looking back at yourself, and who do you find? Just a regular human being, you might have had ups and downs, some moments that shaped your life, and that is undeniably who you are. As you grow older the only thing that changes is that there become more moments to shape your life. Like amassing carvings of a sculpture until you are all precise in what you want and who you are. Sometimes you sculpt a bit too much off or in a wrong direction and then you have to adjust to that decision. You can not reverse what you have done, and if you have a change of heart you have to adjust everything to make your one mistake blend in. I feel like it really examines that part of who we are as individuals. I really want to spoil some stuff here, but that would be unfair to you, dear reader.
The story also feels very natural in its progression. The title “Truth Weavers” sounds cool, and it is, but whatever you think that title means, it represents something different. There are no holes in the timeline or loose ends. It feels smooth and that is the best way to describe it. It’s a very sad and tragic story (so far) that really questions and mocks morality and its inherent hypocrisy. But in a way that is different from what you might imagine, more realistic and less conventional. It also brings to light the subjectivity of existentialism as an individual cannot be individual since they are a social creature and subject to a collective. Sorry if I’m writing an essay here, but I don’t know how else to express myself. Everyone falls in order before structure and social constructs. I love it.
Character development: Do I have to repeat myself again that it feels very real and human? Well I am, it does. Normally when I describe things I use multiple words, analogies, in depth analysis and examples. Here, I am really struggling to do that. I can only describe it in one word: “nice”. And normally just “nice” does not cut it for a 10/10 rating. But here, it is different, it is nice as a feeling more than a description. “Nice” as a perfect book or a perfect essay. A perfect essay might not get you 100% when your professor marks it, that is because they mark it based on a rubric that targets content and understanding. However a perfect essay will interest the reader, they will read it and become curious on the subject, they will take their own time to search for the topic and find more about it themselves out of their own volition. A perfect essay does not explain the concepts in annoyingly basic detail, but rather just tidbits and lets the reader connect the dots themselves. In the same way that a perfect essay is interesting, this perfect manga is nice.
What this manga offers: If you like epic anime-super-fight-battle cutscenes with dramatic music playing in the background. This manga, as much as I hate to say it, is not for you. You are irredeemable, please go reread Solo-Levelling or something.
If you like romance, this might be for you? There is no fan service, romantic relationships or ecchi, but it is very emotional if that’s what you are into.
If you want to be happy with a gender bender or comedy, the only laughter you will get here will be spelt over an “s”.
Hmm, I’m really shutting it down here huh? How about this, if you want to get better tastes, make this your top bar.
The manga tags explain it pretty well. I did say that people that like Solo-Levelling for anything other than art are irredeemable, but those are extremes. Sometimes I look for a read to dull my brain a little, or to poorly sympathies with romance characters. This manga is NOT a quick side remark or dull read, it leaves a lasting aftertaste that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy to ruin by reading another manga right after.
10/10 stop doing anything but reading this, I don’t care if you are hungry, or you have someplace to go to. Drop everything and read this work of art.
Very good.
A manga without lolis or a harem with a more realistic drawing approach? So far im pleased. Only to find out it’s not a mass release and only releases biweekly……disappointed
This is , really good so far as 4 chapters. I’ll keep reading and comment more on it later.
