What’s Our Hero Doing?

It’s a Good Read, It’s entertaining. But it’s not perfect, and I have some Criticisms that if addressed would make this even better.

First, The Art is Good, but could be a lot better. The Studio or Individual who drew and colored this did a good job, but it feels like they fail at Fight Scenes, they drew and colored Radak Sultian perfectly, but the other characters look kinda bad. Like, proportions are weird and all that. And the faces go from good to bad. It’s great art, but some improvements would make it better.

Second, it’s a bit rushed when it comes to the Story and the Events that happen, if it took a bit more time explaining and fleshing out character’s and places it would be better. Like, the Main Character is a perfect example, this Story can basically be summed up as “Veteran Dark Souls Player gets sucked into Dark Souls”. The story both fails and succeeds in creating it’s Main Character. They did not properly show the Main Character’s Growth in this Story. He instantly went from Zero to Hero. He went from “I’m accepting my Death. It’s impossible to Survive” to “I’ll Conquer This World and Survive!” In a matter of minutes in the First chapter. They should put more priority into properly growing the MC’s Character in the first chapters. Instead of instantly turning him into The Doom Slayer after he took the Essence of the First Fallen Hero.

Thirdly, this point of criticism goes back to my secondth point, the Heroes all die so EASILY. I know it’s part of the story, these Heroes have to die for MC to take their Essence to power himself up like “Genius Corpse Collector”, but it could’ve been fleshed out a lot better. For example, the 1st Hero, should’ve put up a much better fight against the “Wolfricon” instead of instantly dying. Like, MC is inexperienced and weak willed, he is literally a Normal Modern Day Gamer, he may have played this Game called “Vantablack Ring”, but he is no warrior. He literally just stole the Essence of the 1st Hero, which means he literally has the power of the 1st Hero without any changes, yet he easily deals with the Werewolf. It would’ve been better had the 1st Hero put up a better and longer fight which gave the Werewolf deep wounds and is at the brink of death, then end the 1st Hero, only for MC to steal and absorb the Essence of the 1st Hero and deal the Finishing Blow. Instead of instantly giving the MC the power up to instantly and easily kill the Werewolf, an Power Up of basically becoming the 1st Hero, who easily died to the Werewolf. This would’ve showed how dangerous this world is, it would built the Power Scaling , the Tension of the Story, showed us the stakes and so on. And it’s even worse for the 2nd Hero, the Femboy Archer, who is an expert at throwing daggers, shooting bows and is agile and fast. Yet died because he stood still for so long just cuz his Crossbow broke when he’s supposed to be a Veteran Marksman. 😑🤦‍♂️ It’s literally if a Soldier’s Gun jammed, so he stood there in front of a tank and didn’t move and avoid the tank shell when he had an hour to avoid the tank shooting him. Also, MC didn’t help the Femboy Archer, literally just let him die.

All in All, I’ll rate this 7/10. But this isn’t a story you should take seriously, only for entertainment purposes. Just turn your brain off. This could’ve been a lot better. But it isn’t. It’s just a generic story. Could’ve been different, could’ve been better. But the writing failed. It’s still an entertaining read. Especially since the Art is pretty good. But this is mostly something you’d read if you have nothing else to read, and if you’re waiting for the actually good Manhwa’s or Mangas you love and are waiting for.
