A brief description of the “Homeless Tensei: Isekai De Jiyuu Sugiru Majutsu Jisoku Seikatsu” manga:
Shinichi Tanaka used to be the director of the firm, but now he’s a homeless man who climbs in garbage cans. He is unemployed, with absolutely no money, digging through the garbage to live another day. But what’s that? Are there terrible monsters in a dungeon in Tokyo? Suddenly a homeless man is reborn in a different world and begins another life in a small room in a huge maze in the dungeon. An unusual and vivid adventure of a 56-year-old homeless man who finds himself in a different world.
When I started reading this title, I was hoping it would grow and improve over time. Sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case. 🙁
Storytelling as of chapter 16.1 is kinda sloppy, and the artwork is no help. It’s as if the author’s only experience before this serialization was doing pinup artwork. Fight scenes don’t even look much like fight scenes, nor give any sense of excitement for the action. Movements are so stiff, it’s like they’re just transitioning from pose to pose. I had high hopes for an MC who would use his wits to be creative and survive because of his past and being homeless, but even that isn’t getting much attention or application. When it comes to battle parts of the story and balancing it with story progression and dialogue, I’m rather disappointed by the presentation.
Charming characters with slice of life moments. Cookie cutter plot of an isekai cultivator with cheats that focuses on world building.
