Kill the Villainess

There are many great Villianess Shoujo stories and this one has a nice spin. (A spin that im also heavily conflicted about)

The spin is that “the causality of the world/novel goes back every time the FMC attempts to kill herself and return to our world, 21st Century Earth”

So she’s trying to get back, but she’s stuck as the Villianess who will later die miserably as the story itself dictates.

And our fmc says, “f that, i want to go back home before the regression. F this world betches!”

My only gripe with it …is about the “Causality” . Which is the foundation of the entire plot.

And that is; the fact that the story is forced back to its original storyline every time FMC tries to kill herself or do something major… This idea of causality being applied to a novel is fine but the moment that “novel” became “the real world” would it not lose that Causality? Being a “real” world would mean the possibilities became endless, not fixed. But this story makes this idea “fixed” and unchanging. Which doesnt make any sense the moment the fictional world became a living breathing world.

I hope this is dealt with later on. But as it stands, its a huge difference of opinion and belief system i suppose. (Fate vs making your own fate etc). As i dont see how only one possible outcome can be fixed in a free open world.

The simplest explanation may be that its not actually a free open world which would then make the “causality” idea make sense. Since it was never a free open world to begin with.
