I’d give it a 3 to 5 out of 10 depending on what you’re looking for. The story is incredibly inconsistent, the character motivation is for the most part lackluster, and frankly, the fighting is not that interesting, you can tell the author doesn’t do research or know about how to write fight scenes. It does take an interesting approach to some otherwise common storytelling and world building for its genre tho.
So if you’re desperately looking for something slightly more unique within the usual gate type of genre with a decent number of chapters already released, I’d say give it a shot. You might like it.
This is e-sports with superhumans.
Unlike most Korean urban fantasies that start with a “save the world” plot, the world is already saved and now it’s left with superhumans with no more Big Bad to fight. So what do they do? They start fighting each other of course! …in regulated virtual reality.
Don’t let the VR fool you because it’s really an excuse for players to go all out without them actually dying irl. There’s also a deeper plot regarding where this VR system came from although it takes a while to get there.
What this author does well is power balance, perhaps better than most manhwa I’ve read where the MC starts off OP. It’s very stat-oriented and most people only have 1 or 2 specific abilities. Most wins are through clever tactics rather than through just raw strength.
The MC himself is OP and yet he still manages to grow in clear, tangible ways. He also tends to be crass and somewhat selfish while telling people what they need to hear. He spends half of the story coaching others and building his own sports team. His team’s growth for the most part feels earned based on his coaching.
Later on, the deeper plot I alluded to earlier gets a bigger and bigger focus, which contrasts quite a bit from the sports plot, so it may feel a bit disjointed as the MC switches between the 2 contexts especially as the MC does the other in secret. I find it interesting and I’m looking forward to when those plots merge, but he has to win the championship first.
it gets worse with time, decent read 6/10
there are two Manhwa with superhuman title, this and Superhuman Era.
Both suck very big time for different reasons.
This one has an inconsistent story with a plot that changes from sport to comedy to monster invasion and can’t decide on a main tone nor does it master the mix even remotely well enough.
The comedic aspects are very very very poorly executed.
The romantic aspects are much below average, MC is a stereotyped harsh bad boy with a few girls interested in him but although he’s 30, rich, famous, strong and sexy, we never see him having anything romantic or sexual. Generally speaking his social skills are on par with a caveman.
He also is one of the d@mbest ones I’ve ever ever seen in the “genius strategist” category. The amount of ridiculously bad decisions he makes is astonishing.
Just to mention a couple: taking a huge amount of unnecessary risks where much more than his life was at stake, not revealing to anybody that there is an imminent risk of an unprecedented invasion.
He’s little more than a sociopath battle-hungry maniac who admitted he wished that the war had never ended, and although he’s only “immortal” to physical attacks (he can get wounded though, he simply regenerates fast, which means he can be at least temporarily disabled) he exposes himself and others to unnecessary danger over and over. It’s clear that as long as he can enjoy fighting he doesn’t give a sh!t if a ton of humans are going to die because he didn’t warn anybody and didn’t give people time and means to train and organize.
So, a mf assh0le egoistic MC with sh!tty personality. Not my type.
I commented the most ridiculous things in the respective chapters so I won’t bother here.
But in few words this is just another OP delirium with an MC who receives all possible gifts and fortunes for no reason.
The writer is remarkably untalented and the story, whose only virtue is the little sport twist on the superhumans vs monsters trope, only proceeds through the abuse of cheap plot devices like plot armor and “idiot plot”: specially idiot plot, really a huge amount of ridiculous behaviors whose only purpose is to create unnecessary problems so that the story can proceed.
I am dropping this sh!t at chapter 99, I’ve binge read because I am sick and bored at home and have finished all the good stuff already, but I won’t add this to my regular list of stuff I am happy to wait a weak for another chapter.
I actually hope this cr@ppy writer go find a job he can actually do.
This is the biggest flex in this whole series
very entertaining, if ur hesitant at least give it a try, it may surprise you, i enjoyed it

“Ah yes, another generic manwha for me to review and tr SH, I can’t wait,” is probably what many people would think after reading the myriad of negative reviews in the comments. However, if we throw away our self-pride and patriotism, it isn’t a bad manwha. There is always a threshold to never cross as an author incorporating real countries and when reading this, I never once thought it was crossed. In our minds, we have diluted ourselves to think that if any country is powerful that is not the U.S, etc.. it was only made for self righteous patriotism. Yet, in the entire course of this manwha, not one country was depicted as “evil” nor in any negative way. To add to this, Korea, obviously the ethnicity of the author, isn’t strong but rather belittled constantly. The strength of each country is actually pretty balanced contrary to what we’d usually expect.
The entire story reminds me of a massive epilogue to a typical dungeon outbreak manwha that doesn’t end up challenging God in the end. Along with this, the art style is reminiscent of a prime Tomb Raider King with a mixture of an early The Tutorial Tower’s Advanced Player’s plot. At times, the story is based on side characters with the mc popping in here and there, ultimately taking credit to add to his further stacked resume. With this, the progression of said side characters is very well-paced. Honestly, it’s a very entertaining read if you enjoy a more team focused manwha rather than an edgy solo kid that rolls through everyone…I’m looking at you ___ .
Also, this isn’t nearly as patriotic as having a captain America superhero lmao.
