A brief description of the manhwa Martial Wild West:

In a world where the Han Empire never fell, martial arts is a power used to squeeze people dry. So when a new continent is discovered, both good and evil men alike flee to settle there and escape the tyranny of the Emperor, opening up the era of a Martial Wild West.

In the turbulent frontier, Zhang Qian is a man that reincarnated from our cushy, modern world, but his new world is nothing like the fantastical world he dreamed about from reading martial arts novels. While the martial arts in his new world are powerful, they are also too crude and lack elegance. And so Qian journeys along the continent for his dream of bringing true martial arts back to the new realm.

This is a very good series, 10/10.

Would recommend.

Low martial arts, yes, but the story behind each character has impact and substance on a level beyond most Murim stories.

This is probably the best low level martial arts story I’ve read. At time of this comment I’ve read up to Chapter 72 which is the latest chapter. It has stayed relatively grounded compared to average martial arts story where you get fantastical stuff like flying swords, obliterating mountain ranges, etc. Is just such a good read.

It’s a great read. It’s a typical murim story but has a wild west theme to it. It’s a case of doing nothing new but doing everything well.
Exposition is paced wonderfully, giving you enough crumbs to keep you wondering while also having enough to give the image of a bigger world.
Characters are varied and with each arc being its own self-contained story with threads and clues about a bigger plot unfolding in the background.

It’s honestly quite refreshing having a story knowing how to restrain itself from dumping exposition, about it’s lore, it’s magic/martial arts, etc, allowing you to discover the world along with the protagonist.

This is a decent read. Especially if you need a break and a palate cleanse. I enjoy how the author doesn’t give you everything and lets an adventure unfold with some decent surprises. I’m usually a tower/level up garbage manhwa reader, so this was a fresh of breath air to me.

A word of advice if someone someday is in a position to decide if torture is to be used to extract information, it only works in fiction. Not in real life.

The start is a bit slow but it become better and the art is pretty good ans there is a Big plot with great character developpement.
So i recommend it 👍
