A brief description of the manga The Middle-Aged Newbie Adventurer, Trained to the Brink of Death by the Strongest Party, Became Unbeatable:
It is common knowledge that it is best to become an adventurer when you are as young as possible, because the magical power that is the basis of an adventurer’s strength will hardly grow if you don’t train it while you are young. But this man, Rick Gladiator, who became an adventurer when he was over thirty years old, had the combat power of an S-rank adventurer, the highest rank in the world.
In fact, Rick has lived an unimaginable life with the members of the legendary Orihalcon Fist, a party of the continent’s strongest adventurers. From dragons to vampires, Rick’s fighting prowess, trained by his literally “monster” mentors, allows him to defeat elite adventurers one after another who try to underestimate him.
I can only add that there’s a strong “Baki Hanma” vibe. As I personally hate that manga\anime, I could not enjoy this one.
6 chapters in and we’re fed a slew of ragebait incompetence. MC used to be a guild receptionist for 14 years. Unless he was comatose for the entire time he should know many quirks and personalities of how certain A-F ranks act and what normal power scaling looks like.
Instead we have a blank slate that’s “traumatized” by his overpowered teachers making him somehow forget everything about the world and how it works. Not to mention that every waking moment of the MC is to flex how much of a misunderstood “Alpha Male” he is from his training as with many tropes of the same kind in these fantasy mangas.
If you want to turn your brain off and look at gratuitous amounts of flexing, tits and panty shots, look no further because this is the type of manga that will give your brain the least amount of mental stimulation.

If you simply want to pass the time, then go ahead.
Maybe it gets better later on, but 6 chapters so far and the writing is so badly done with MC that acts like he’s insanely weak while clearly being way stronger than everyone around him non stop, unlikeable cliche side characters, and is just overall painful to read with no redeeming qualities, even the worldbuilding is non existent. 2/10 for me, this kind of garbage writing should not be excused.

this has an anime now so i read it all in 3 hours
I read it for a while, but yet it felt lacking on some level. I’m not sure what, but it felt instinctive. Could it be the mc and friends are super OP or is it something else. Overall, for me it felt average to me.
Also… why is artist drawing all their eyes like they are sad / traumatized and depressed? Even the filler pinup pages are all those types of eyes/expressions?
Most of the characters have those eyes/expressions even if it makes no sense…
this is a real good one, great art decent humor, good balance of silly/serious settings. a hearty 8/10
