The author puts us in another perspective of the story’s in the first POV, the fact that the world doesn’t revolve around the MC, adds depth to the tale. There is no overpowered character, no world destruction, just our MC travelling the world, meeting people and while he ages, because he’s an elf, he sees enough things to be able to transcript it to us. Maybe the ending will show that this whole plot was in fact a diary left by the MC.
I came here for a nice relaxing slice of life story but someone keeps showing up and cutting onions. 10/10 will read again.
Every time I re-find this and re-read it I’m struck but how many happens in so many chapters. A story where we really see how time as humans understand it really would be alien to those with much longer lives. It’s something I rarely see done so well, as well as keeping the reader interested in Aesir’s journey as the world changes around him.

The chapters may seem short but the author and art give you time to explore the world it slows everything down to an elf’s perspective and its nothing like Frieren’s journey at all. More like to your eternity but done in a much more calming way. The author understands how to make somebody feel good its not trash but an incredible comfort food or a lullaby. extremely underrated. A must read!
So, this is written with mostly summarization. Like some of the comments below it’s very similar to re:monster. I did not like re:monster. The summary style especially just made the whole manga feel detached and time felt way too loose. I had trouble immersing myself in the story and the characters. That is what makes this style perfect for this story. The summary is rougher in early chapters, but it really makes you understand the speed that elves see the world, and almost feels like you’re reading a memory rather than experiencing the story real time. This is compounded by what the author focuses on. Usually, combat is glossed over, focusing more on how the Mc feels while fighting, while the impactful emotional moments are rendered in great detail. The summary style is abandoned for dialog and thoughts.
This is frieren the isekai. (I mean, it’s definitely not on the same level, but it gives a lot of the same vibes)

Second time reviewing, it was already one of my favorites, and I see it differently now. I still love this, it has action, adventure, romance, politics, building, crafting, and all the feels. It’s more apparent to me that MC is in the process of losing his humanity, and making choices about who he will be. The frustration of missing so many side stories is mostly allayed by the author taking time to fit what we do see into a larger tapestry. In the end, I think the relatable side characters and their believable struggles are what make this so special. 13/10 would highly recommend
