Art is amazing but the story moves incredibly slow. I know the team wants to do world-building but it feels even slower than GRRM novels which don’t work because there’s supposed to be a MC in this manhwa

It’s really hard for me to read this. 8 chapters in and i just cant like it. How does it make sense where the kid was up to 6 years old being bullied all the time and then locked in a shed for 10 years. Then in there mc learns sword fight from magical mirror without having any experience on fighting anything. The amount of PTSD the kid should have is not something we can imagine even and then live with bandits who get new members and the new member want to be 7th place and picks to fight the little kid while the bandits who have lived with the kid for few months just go and allow it without any questions.

I hope the pacing picks up, its the only reason this one fell of so hard.

I would say the authors mistake is the pacing doesn’t fit the style of story. The Vinland Saga Farm arc can afford a slow pace because it explores a lot of character depth and internal conflict, while their manhwa has none of it. All it accomplishes is lingering on fight scenes or acts soo long it ends up exhausting the readers. It should adopt a pace like Solo Levelings, and accept it’s just an action manhwa and that it should have a pace reflecting of that. AltTotals complaints on top of this make this manhwa disappointing, it has all the building blocks of a amazing manhwa but fails to utilize any of them properly. With the most interesting developments, like his reunion with his family, likely not happening for awhile because of this pacing.

I completely agree with those who complain about the pace.
Although, I don’t think the pace itself is slow.
I think that the biggest frustration in reading this story is that the writer abuses all possible cheap plot devices to compensate his severe lack of talent and creativity.
His main way to make the story progress is by having the characters behave in absurd ways so that the plot gets complicated and tense.
It’s a quick way which only fools inexperienced readers who are easy to impress, but frustrates those who expect more maturity and depth in a story.
I have binge read until the last available chapter (74, end of S1) because despite its serious flaws the manhwa is not a complete disaster and I have read all the better stuff already.
But I won’t bookmark this.
It’s not worth waiting every week for a new chapter when the writer has no honesty.
Maybe, if I will find this manhwa again in one or two years and there will be enough chapters to binge I will see if S2 is better. But I’m surely not looking forward to it.

I agree it’s kinda slow , but it’s normal , not that bad , i am sure u ppl saying it’s slow just because there aren’t enough chapters yet ,which is sad , but it’s still kinda cool , totally worth it and professional writing (remember there are manhwas with +400 ch and i expect this one to be one of them , comparing this 74 ch ro 400 , it’s totally normal that nothing big happened yet) and don’t cry for God’s sake abt developpement being slow etc , i don’t think that is enough reason for mature readers to drop this work of art , each author has it’s own style , just read and enjoy it , why the hell are u taking things more seriously , it’s just a godamn manhwa , a work of fiction/imagination , none of it is true and it has million possibilities that it could go by , why are u upset that the author just chose one? u can imagine whatever u want and suits u after all .

90% here is filler.

No I’m not joking, chapters are 1 inch long, and it drags and drags and drags on forever for a thong to happen.

There’s no cliffhanger chapter cause the whole season is a cliffhanger.

The next interesting event happening is actually 25 filler chapters and 1 whole season away, where different useless characters all repeat the same things with different spins.

I will give you an example: chap 74: one random guy says “the sky is ominous, it’s like 20 years ago”, then old man shim: “this red sky is ominous, like the bloodbath 20 years ago”. Then they explain you in 5 panels that this demonic sect caused a bloodbath. Then the MC says “I will protect my brothers, nobody will touch us”. Aaaaand the chapter ends.

This is next level blueballing. Read only if you have masochistic tendencies

Manga is good but if manga artist and author doesnot increase the story phase then it is doom to go down. Many readers are still waiting for MC fight with family.
