Reborn Ranker – Gravity User

I do have a pretty early verdict on this one. I’m putting this one at 2 stars, only 1 if I didn’t have a personal bias that gravity skills are cool. You shouldn’t expect much substance in terms of a complex plot nor characters. Every nondescript character in the crowd is completely one dimensional and stereotypical to always love the popular people and hate the unpopular people just to try to build tension by making the reader want to support the under dog instead of the arrogant hotshot the crowd is falling for. So far we’ve only seen 1.5 characters who support mc. The .5 is a “tutorial guide” who’s constantly commenting on how mc is making terrible choices and should quit adventuring when he gets a secret class until mc helps kill a monster that he couldn’t, and the 2nd is now his new party member, a shy girl who also has a class that everyone belittles her for having who mc pities. 

The plot advances itself very quickly and predictably to anybody who’s seen at least 5 fantasy anime or korean drama manwhas. I know that mc is supposed to be overpowered, but the way they write their plot and his power ups are not satisfying at all. The entire atmosphere of their story is frankly very unimmersive. Almost all emotional relatability or pity you would have with characters is always a sob-story about being cast aside for not being good enough. I feel more emotional reheating leftovers than I do reading this story. 

Character interactions are also equally as predictable as their plot, rather irritating with how much side characters comment whenever something outside of their half-an-inch wide vision occurs to make mc seem cooler and smarter than his generic stereotype is, and honestly in overall conversations are extremely unrealistic and makes it seem like you’re watching bad actors in a play where the script was written by someone who doesn’t have any social interaction and thought up of a power fantasy inside their head.

For people who did come here for gravity powers, “Even if you can escape with reincarnation, my brother” explains gravity powers way better than here, even if there’s way more fanservice, black and white panel, alongside have many extremely grotesque panels and darker themes, that series is a personal recommendation from me, but only for people who can handle: murder, rape, and incestual yandere, etc. Way better and less generic plot, immersion, and just complexity overall (I’ll state this again, only if you’re fine with fan service and dark themes and lack of updates).
