A brief description of the manga The Executed Sage Is Reincarnated as a Lich and Starts an All-Out War:
Sage Dwight, together with Heroine, defeated the demon king who plunged the world into darkness.
However, despite all their merits, they are accused of treachery and want to be executed by throwing them into the valley of the dead. But a wise man does not want to just give up.
He becomes undead and his main goal is to take revenge on the abusers and change this rotten world.

I feel like a major issue with this is the weird switch in mood. It seemed like a tragic origin brutal revenge story but then it switched it up to something a bit more fun and light hearted with the introduction of the direct subordinate characters.
The major contrast can put people off when they go in expecting something but get something else.
I understand the main point being peace through control but if you’re going to act evil, at least go through with it.
Several towns basically got subjugated but humans still allowed to live on their own cause reasons even though it would be perfectly fine just turning them into undead so that the rest of the kingdoms can look and say “holy shit, this Demon King is killing everyone.”
The new hero having that brainwashed moment was ass btw but the killing of the hero was counter to some cliche which is ironic because we immediately go back into the cliche of “Humans bad. Humans killing non humans cause humans bad.”
Literally. How many stories are we going to see of humans killing demi humans because they’re just racist? Don’t go to me saying “oh its because they need the resources to fight the demon lord.”
Bull shit. The author wouldn’t have made them look as evil as possible if that was the case. In fact, that would be better writing. Humans struggling to survive require resources/help from the elves. The elves not agreeing because of their beliefs. Then the humans fighting them
Having the mc save the demi humans/monsters from the evil humans is really just classic good guy isekai story at this point. We literally have a city being built where humans, monsters, demihumans are able to live in peace.
This isn’t the Evil Demon Lord Story I was expecting from the chapter 1 introduction.

Oh. Is that another cliche? Religion bad? Holy shit. This story is making strides in story telling. There’s literally not even any build up. The chapter where the saintess was introduced was literally before the chapter where she fights the MC. Are we seriously comparing this to Overlord?
The author can’t even make the MC, “the bad guy btw”, look evil and those trying to defeat him, “good guys btw”, look like the good guys. (See hero and Saint)
It’s actually funny reading the comments where it went to the Saint’s backstory cause you can clearly tell they don’t don’t care about her because the author is ass with writing so all they care about is the MC and his aura farming.

Well he is technically immortal so no next demon king as far as his plans go. And he’s starting new wäre because well that’s the point.. a peaceful demon nation wouldn’t instill much fear so that the neighbouring nations would form alliance among themselves to defeat the common enemy.. if he does not pose a real threat to them his plan falls flat.. he isn’t about revenge he is about creating a world were humans don’t slaughter each other mindlessly over nothing.. for humanity he is the demon king who wants to kill/enslave all humans.. for the other races he’s a saviour who protects them against the humans who want to eradicate them.. that’s how you write a proper evil lord.. being evil for the sake of being evil is just nothing… The evil lord is not evil towards his own people.. you see such villains time and time again who will slaughter their own subordinates for petty reasons.. MC here wouldn’t do that.. what this story lacks is a proper antagonist. Someone who could pose a threat to the MC, his plans and most important.. his philosophy.. I guess once he revives the former hero we will get that.. the force of nature that he assumes to try to stop him is just that.. a force of nature. That’s no antagonist he can go up against..
